Tied To The Land
We sat down with the Tied To The Land podcast to share how a small-town Illinois family ended up chasing adventure across the world.
Watch on YouTubeJake, Brittany, Aniston and Noah. Four people chasing the same motto, seek adventure together, wherever in the world that takes us. Here's a little more about each of us and how we ended up sharing it all with you.
We believe the best classroom is the world itself. Every trip teaches our kids, and us, patience, curiosity, and how to say yes to the next hard, beautiful thing.
Adventures, lifestyle, homeschooling, the messy and the beautiful, real days, honest moments, and the in-between that doesn't usually make the highlight reel.
Brands that we value and trust, companies that respect families, the outdoors, and the way authenticity outlasts trends.
Jake and Brittany grew up as backyard neighbors in a small town in Illinois. They used to sit on Brittany's roof and talk about traveling and exploring the world, the only catch was that neither of them had really traveled much growing up, and there wasn't exactly a plan.
For the next ten years they focused on growing their family and paying off debt so they could one day actually prioritize travel. This page, and everything beyond it, is what they love to do and share. Every click, share, and follow supports them in that endeavor, so we're really glad you're here.

Jake is our steady, all-in dad. He's a journeyman electrician and certified drone pilot who used to wrench on Harley-Davidsons and still loves anything he can build or fix with his hands. When he isn't working, you'll find him on the golf course, in the gym trying to keep up with the kids, or saying yes to whatever's on the calendar next. Everything he does loops back to one thing, more time on the road with us.

Brittany is usually the first one cheering everyone on to say yes, but it took her a while to get there. She grew up letting fear and doubt call the shots, and it was meeting Jake and realizing they wanted the same big life that started to shift things. When the kids came along she slowed down to soak in the early years, and eventually chose to homeschool so the four of them could have more freedom of time and learning. She's a registered dental hygienist who now gets to do this full time with her family, and spends her days outside, dancing in the kitchen, and chasing whatever's next.

Aniston is curious, creative, and almost always moving. She loves ballet, rock climbing, and finding the perfect tree to curl up in with a good book. She's fascinated by WW2 history, dreams of being a pilot one day, and is already logging flight hours, all while keeping a serious passion for cooking and baking. And always looking for a new adventure.

Noah is the comedian of the family. Always dancing, always cracking a joke, always hunting down a snack. He lives for Legos and building something out of whatever he can find, and lately he's been pushing himself way outside his comfort zone. Rappelling down a mountain in Utah used to be one of his biggest fears, then he tried it, fell in love with it, and now he's the one leading the charge to the next adventure.
